In Memoriam ~ Gone Too Soon

Coco ~ the foster failure that started it all

This is one loss that hit our family the hardest. Coco was more than just a dog, he helped raised four children. He was the first chihuahua to enter our home and he changed our lives forever. He came to us, so severely abused that his fear aggression made him impossible to handle. Instead of sending him away, we doubled down and chose to give him a safe life long home. After a short time filled with patience and persistence, Coco chose to trust us. He put his entire heart into protecting "his" humans all the way up until his final breath at 19 years old.

While not even close to breed standard, there will never be another dog like this boy and we are forever grateful that he came into our lives.

Cruz

This boy was the most forgiving soul one could ever hope to have in their lives. He came to us when we were on the board of directors of an animal rescue. He had been left to starve to death in a Georgia kill shelter. We pulled him out just in time, we weren't even sure he would survive his first night in our home. It was that night that we decided that he was meant to stay with our family, for however long that would be. He persevered and overcame everything he had endured down south, becoming the tiniest and most loving breed ambassador there could be. Losing him was an enormous loss for the chihuahua community.
